Wonder Boy III: Monster Lair (ワンダーボーイIII モンスター・レアー Wandā Bōi Surī: Monsutā Reā?, lit. "Wonder Boy III Monster Lair") is a side-scrolling action game developed by Westone Bit Entertainment that was originally released for the arcades by Sega in 1988. It is the third game in the Wonder Boy series and the last one released for the arcade. A console adaption was made by Hudson Soft, released in 1989 in Japan for the PC Engine CD and the subsequent North American release on the TurboGrafx-CD dropped the 'Wonder Boy III' title. It was also converted and released by Sega for the Mega Drive in Japan in 1990 and Europe in 1991.

World Championship Soccer (ワールドカップサッカー), known in Europe as World Cup Italia '90, was one of the first games released for the Sega Genesis system in North America in September 1989. It is a soccer game based on the 1990 FIFA World Cup tournament in Italy, featuring 24 different playable countries. It's the first World Cup official licensed franchise game based on FIFA World Cup featuring official logo and the mascot. The game was released in 1989. It was ported by Elite Systems for DOS, Amiga, Atari ST, Commodore 64 and ZX Spectrum. The game was later renamed to Sega Soccer on the Mega 6 compilation cartridge on the Mega Drive removing the Virgin Mastertronic credits

World Championship Soccer 2 is one of many football/soccer games released for the North American Sega Genesis and European Sega Mega Drive systems, in 1994. The player can choose between many different worldwide football teams and has many features common to soccer games of the time, including choices of automatic defence and attack formations and strategies. There are a number of different game play options and tournaments the player can be a part of. The game even has an option to replay the games from the 1986 and 1990 World Championships.

World Heroes (ワールドヒーローズ, Wārudo Hīrōzu?) is a series of fighting games created by ADK originally created for the Neo Geo MVS arcade cabinets with the assistance of SNK, though some of the games in the series were also ported to the Neo Geo AES and Neo-Geo CD platforms, as well as some non-SNK platforms such as the Super NES and the Sega Saturn. A fifth title World Heroes Pocket was announced for release on the Neo Geo Pocket, but was canceled. The general premise is that a scientist, Dr. Brown, having perfected a time machine, organized a tournament for various fighters throughout all of history to combat each other. True to this plot, many of the fighters are based on actual historical figures, while some are fictional ones.

World of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck, known in Japan as I Love Mickey & Donald - The Mysterious Magic Box (World of Illusion - アイラブ ミッキー＆ドナルド - ふしぎなマジックボックス World of Illusion - Ai Rabu Mikki ando Donarudo - Fushigi na Majikku Bokkusu?) is a Sega Mega Drive/Genesis platform game that was produced by Sega of Japan and released in 1992. It is part of Sega's Illusion series of Mickey Mouse games.

World Trophy Soccer is the name given to two distinct video games: World Trophy Soccer, a 1989 game by Virgin Mastertronic later reworked as World Cup Soccer: Italia '90. World Trophy Soccer, a 1992 game for the Sega Genesis, a reworking of European Club Soccer.

Worms is an artillery strategy video game developed by Team17 and released in 1995. It is the first game in the Worms series of video games and was initially only available for the Amiga. Later it was ported to other platforms. Worms is a turn based game where a player controls a team of worms against other teams of worms that are controlled by a computer or human opponent. The aim is to use various weapons to kill the worms on the other teams and have the last surviving worm(s).

Wrestle War is the name of a video game which was released in the arcades in 1989, and for the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis console in 1991 in Japan, Australia, and Europe only. and was published and developed by Sega. Despite being released the same year as the National Wrestling Alliance/World Championship Wrestling's WrestleWar pay-per-view, it is not associated with any wrestling promotion.

WWF RAW is a video game based on the television show of the same name produced by the World Wrestling Federation, released for the SNES, Sega 32X, Mega Drive/Genesis, and Game Boy in late 1994 and early 1995 by Acclaim Entertainment. It is the sequel to the WWF Royal Rumble game that was released in 1993, and is the final part of LJN's 16-bit WWF trilogy. Players can play either One-on-One, Tag Team, Bedlam, Survivor Series, Royal Rumble, or a Raw Endurance Match. WWF RAW introduces differences between the characters in that they not only have their own signature moves, but differing move sets altogether (including new over-the-top "mega moves"). The game adds many moves not seen in the previous games, such as a DDT, a fallaway slam, and various types of suplexes. Additionally, wrestlers differ in attributes of speed, strength, stamina, and weight. The game itself is arcade-like and involves a "tug-of-war" system in which, when the wrestlers lock-up, a meter appears above them and players must repeatedly press buttons to pull the energy away from the opponent's side to theirs. With more energy, they can perform moves with greater impact. Once an opponent's energy is low enough, a player can perform a wrestler's unique signature move.
